DELTONA, Florida – A late-night vandalism revenge plot targeting a Florida woman‘s ex-boyfriend’s car took an unexpected turn when Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies discovered the vehicle defaced with yellow spray paint and eggs belonged to an innocent neighbor instead.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a vandalism call overnight in the City of Deltona after reports surfaced of a young woman spray-painting a vehicle.
Upon arrival, deputies spotted two female suspects in the area: an 18-year-old and her 16-year-old companion. The older suspect was quickly identified as the primary culprit, with yellow spray paint staining her sweatpants providing a glaring clue.
When questioned, the 18-year-old confessed that she had been furious with her ex-boyfriend and, with the help of her younger friend, hatched a plan to vandalize his car as an act of revenge. The pair armed themselves with eggs and spray paint, only to mistakenly target a neighbor’s vehicle in their late-night escapade.
Deputies recovered an empty Crown Royal bottle and the incriminating can of yellow spray paint at the scene, further solidifying the case against her.
The 18-year-old Florida woman now faces multiple charges, including criminal mischief, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of alcohol under 21, and driving under the influence (DUI).
Her 16-year-old accomplice was charged with possession of marijuana over 20 grams.
