MIAMI, Florida- David Hogg, 24, was elected as the vice chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), focusing on bringing back young voters to the Democratic Party that were lost to President Donald Trump in the 2024 General Election.

Hogg rose to prominence following the 2018 Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida.

After surviving the Parkland shooting, Hogg became one of the key figures in the gun control movement, co-founding "March For Our Lives," which organized one of the largest youth-led protests in U.S. history advocating for gun control legislation.

"We need to build a Democratic Party that is authentic, relatable, earns people's trust, and wins again––and that stops apologizing for being who we are," Hogg posted on X.

"We need to show them who we are again, to rid our party of its judgmental attitudes, and do the work to win back every group we lost this year, from the working class to young people."
