Desantis: Andrew Tate Not Welcome In Florida

, Florida –   has taken a firm and public stand against the arrival of Andrew and Tristan Tate in the Sunshine State.

Speaking at a press conference in Starke —an event originally unrelated to the Tates—he was asked by a reporter whether the brothers were welcome. His response was unequivocal: “The reality is, no, Florida is not a place where you’re welcome with that type of conduct.” He emphasized that neither he nor his administration had any prior involvement or notification of their travel, learning of it only through media reports.

The brothers, dual U.S.-British citizens, departed Bucharest on a private jet and arrived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on February 27, 2025, the Associated Press reports.

Reports suggest that the Trump administration may have influenced this decision, with outlets like the Financial Times noting discussions between U.S. officials and Romanian authorities, though Romania’s Foreign Minister has denied any direct pressure. Despite their departure, the Tates remain under judicial control, meaning they’re required to return to Romania by late March for ongoing legal proceedings, as their criminal cases have not been dismissed, CNN reports.
