I-4 Westbound Lanes Reopen After Crash

UPDATE: As of 11 a.m., all westbound lanes are open but congestion remains in the area.

ORLANDO, Florida –  A severe crash on Interstate 4 Westbound at Mile Marker 83 in Orange County has brought traffic to a standstill this morning. The incident, reported at 7:18 AM EST, has resulted in the closure of the on-ramp and all westbound lanes, according to an update from authorities at 10:00 AM.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes, such as SR-50/Colonial Drive, Orange Avenue, US-17/92, or Edgewater Drive, to avoid the congestion. The I-4 Express Lanes may also be an option for eligible drivers. Traffic delays are expected to persist throughout the morning as crews work to clear the roadway.

Emergency responders, including a Road Ranger, are on the scene managing the situation. Drivers are urged to move over or slow down to ensure the safety of first responders. The Florida Highway Patrol has classified the closure as a “major” disruption, with no estimated time for reopening provided at this time.
