Coast Guard Finds Chinese Migrant Paddleboarding From Bahamas To Florida

MIAMI, Florida – The crew of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Seahorse came upon a Chinese migrant alien aboard a paddleboard located approximately 25 miles from Freeport, Bahamas, which is the closest island to Florida.

The U.S. Coast Guard transferred him back to The Bahamas on Tuesday.

In January,  the U.S. Coast Guard announced immediate action in response to executive orders by President Trump, deploying boats, aircraft, and specialized forces to deter illegal immigration. The focus of this operation spans the southeastern U.S. border around Florida.

This includes the maritime border between the Bahamas and South Florida.
