MIAMI, Florida –  Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis hinted at a possible run for governor in 2026 during a press conference with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announcing cancer research funding at Florida International University on Friday,

She quoted baseball legend Yogi Berra, saying, “When you come to a fork in the road, take it,” a comment that many interpreted as a nod to her future plans.

The prospect of a Casey DeSantis candidacy sets the stage for a high-profile showdown in Florida’s Republican primary. U.S. Representative Byron Donalds, a Naples Republican, has already announced his intention to run for governor, bolstered by an endorsement from President Donald Trump.
