TALLAHASSE, Florida  – Casey DeSantis, the wife of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, is reportedly considering running for Florida governor in 2026, following her husband’s term limit. 

According to NBC Miami, Republican donors are pushing for her candidacy. She has not officially announced her decision but has been the subject of speculation and encouragement from political circles within Florida. 

Casey DeSantis has been a significant presence in Florida’s political scene, having supported her husband’s political career and engaging in public roles focusing on mental health, cancer research, and disaster relief. 

Before becoming Florida’s First Lady, Casey hosted programs like “On The Tee” and “PGA Tour Today” on the Golf Channel.

She also worked as a local newscaster and anchor for WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida, holding roles such as general assignment reporter, morning anchor, and police reporter.

Her potential candidacy has sparked discussions among Florida Republicans, with some seeing it as a way to continue the DeSantis political legacy, while others are considering the implications of her close association with her husband’s administration.
