Broward Deputies Suspended After Florida Triple Murder Probe
TAMARAC, Florida –  Several Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) deputies are on paid leave as an investigation examines their response to a triple murder in Tamarac, NBC 6 reported.
Early Sunday, Nathan Gingles, 43, allegedly killed his estranged wife, Mary Gingles, 34, her father, David Ponzer, 64, and neighbor Andrew Ferrin, 36, then abducted his 4-year-old daughter, Seraphine, triggering an Amber Alert. He was arrested later that day.
The Miami Herald reports that about five deputies, including patrol officers and detectives, were suspended amid questions over their handling of the incident, given Gingles’ history of domestic violence and prior BSO contact.
Sheriff Gregory Tony will address the suspensions at a 2:30 PM EST press conference today.
Mary Gingles had sought protective injunctions, warning of her husband’s threats.
The investigation will assess if deputies missed chances to intervene. Gingles faces murder and kidnapping charges.
