Florida Woman Arrested In Connection With Husband's Death

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Florida – The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office has launched a homicide investigation following the discovery of Allen Phillips, who was found dead in his home on January 24, 2025. Authorities have arrested Phillips’ wife, Tequila Phillips, in Wetumpka, Alabama, where she is awaiting extradition to Florida to face charges related to her husband’s death.
Deputies were dispatched to Allen Phillips’ residence for a welfare check after a concerned family member reported that they had not heard from him in several days, which was out of character. The family member also expressed concern about Tequila Phillips’ evasiveness regarding Allen’s whereabouts.
Upon arrival, deputies determined they needed to forcibly enter the home. Once inside, they found Allen Phillips deceased, with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Authorities noted that his body was in the later stages of decomposition. Investigators collected key evidence at the scene, including a firearm and a shell casing.
Following their investigation, detectives identified Tequila Phillips as a suspect. She was later apprehended by the Wetumpka Police Department in Alabama. Tequila Phillips remains in custody, awaiting extradition proceedings to return to Santa Rosa County to face charges in connection with her husband’s death.
