Florida Braces For Plunging Cold Temperatures From Arctic Blast

ORLANDO, Florida -  Florida will see temperatures plummet overnight on Monday, January 6, 2024 through early Thursday morning when a blast of artic air descends upon the Sunshine State.

Temperatures will drop tonight into lows in the lower to middle 30s across North Florida, and approaching freezing in the interior Florida Big Bend and Suwannee River Valley. 

Central and interior South Florida can expect lows in the 40s, while coastal areas and the Keys will see temperatures in the 50s and lower 60s respectively.

Highs for today are expected to reach the lower 60s in North Florida, middle to upper 60s across Central Florida, and lower to middle 70s in South Florida and the Florida Keys.

Temperatures will remain chilly through Thursday morning.

The Florida cold snap is part of a larger weather pattern affecting much of the eastern United States, with temperatures forecasted to be 12 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit below normal.
