Excessive Cold, Fire Weather Risk For Central Florida

ORLANDO, Florida – Another cold day is in store for Central Florida with high temperatures only reaching the 50s. Cloud cover clears from north to south with sunshine making its return. Colder air moves in tonight with freezing temps north of I-4 and frost development possible.

Even colder temperatures are forecast late tonight through early Saturday morning. Lows are forecast in the 30s across much of the area, except low to mid 40s along the immediate coast from the Cape southward. 

Freezing temperatures are even more likely north of I-4 and a Freeze Warning is in effect for 2 AM to 8 AM Saturday for Lake and inland Volusia counties. Northerly winds of 5 to 10 mph will also produce wind chill values as low as the mid 20s to mid 30s across east central Florida. 

Frost development will also be possible for more wind sheltered locations across the interior overnight.

Sensitive fire weather conditions will exist along and north of the I-4 corridor this afternoon, as minimum relative humidity values are forecast to fall to the mid 30s to low 40s.
