Excessive Cold, Dangerous Rip Currents For South Florida

MIAMI, Florida - A cold front will pass through South Florida on Friday, January 24, 2025, yielding brisk temperatures tonight into Saturday morning according to the National Weather Service in Miami.

Winds chills will dip below the 40s this morning west of Lake Okeechobee, and further drop into the low/mid 30s overnight into Saturday morning across much of the interior. 

For the east coast, wind chills will drop into the low/mid 40s.

Partly sunny today, highs in the low 60s. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Tonight will start off mostly cloudy, then gradually become clear. Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

A high risk of rip currents will likely persist for the Atlantic beaches as onshore flow increases in strength and remains elevated through the weekend.

Hazardous marine conditions should gradually abate as seas subside with time.

Cold weather is expected across South Florida Saturday morning. Wind chills will generally range from the 30s to 40s, with the coldest locations being west of Lake Okeechobee.
