WASHINGTON, D.C. - At a 2025 March for Life pre-rally in Washington, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis delivered a speech advocating for the protection of unborn life.
"Florida is not just the place that woke goes to die, it's the place that babies go to live," said DeSantis while highlighting recent legislative successes in maintaining a strong pro-life position.
DeSantis has been active in pro-life legislation, having signed Florida's heartbeat bill in 2023, which prohibits abortions after the detection of a fetal heartbeat, roughly around six weeks. He also campaigned against Amendment 4, a referendum that would have established a legal right to abortion in Florida's state constitution, which ultimately failed to pass due to not reaching the required 60% threshold.
The March for Life began with a pre-rally concert, followed by speeches from pro-life leaders, including DeSantis, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, and others.
The march itself started at 1 p.m. Eastern Time, moving from near the Washington Monument to the Supreme Court.
