KISSIMMEE, Florida - The Florida Lottery announced that John Schaafsma, 68, of Kissimmee, has claimed three separate prizes from the 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at the Lottery's Orlando District Office, marking an extraordinary streak of luck.
The Osceola County man's winnings include a $1,000 prize, a life-changing $1 million win in August, and another $1,000 prize in November. The winning tickets in August were purchased at K & M Drugs, located at 395 Village Drive in Poinciana.
Schaafsma opted for a one-time lump-sum payment of $640,000 from his $1 million win. K & M Drugs received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the $1 million prize-winning Scratch-Off ticket.
The $50 Scratch-Off game, 500X THE CASH, features over 10 million winning tickets, with a top prize of $25 million.
The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.23.
