Flooding, Dangerous Rip Currents, Thunderstorms For South Florida

, Florida – Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible mainly across the eastern half of South Florida on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. The strongest storms could contain heavy downpours and gusty winds.

Repeated rounds of rainfall today may lead to localized and urban flooding across the east coast metro areas, according to the National Weather Service in Miami

A High Rip Current Risk remains for Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Broward counties through Wednesday evening.

Highs will reach the lower 80s along the east coast to the upper 80s along the west coast.

Wednesday through Monday

The high risk for rip currents for the Atlantic Coast beaches will likely extend through at least the middle of the week.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms may develop across on Wednesday and Thursday. Multiple rounds of heavy downpours could create localized flooding across the east coast metro areas on Wednesday.

Later in the week, a cold front is expected to pass through South Florida, bringing the potential for colder temperatures behind the front for the end of the week and into the upcoming weekend.
