Florida Man Buys $2 Million Scratch-Off
LAKELAND, Florida - The Florida Lottery announced that Richard Hawkins, 38, of Lakeland, claimed a $2 million top prize from the TRIPLE 777 Scratch-Off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
The Polk County man chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,280,000.00.
Hawkins purchased his winning ticket from Wabash Marathon, located at 2045 Ariana Street in Lakeland.
The retailer received a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
The $10 Scratch-Off game, TRIPLE 777, features over six million winning tickets and offers more than $158.8 in total cash prizes, including eight top prizes of $2 million. With overall odds of 1-in-3.51, players can win up to 15 times.
