Florida Mailman Fatally Stabs Lawn Worker

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Florida - The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation of an altercation that occurred between a postal worker and lawn care worker that resulted in a fatal stabbing of the lawn care worker in the 5600 block of Tanagerlake Road in the Fishhawk community. 

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 1:02 p.m., deputies responded to a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, they located 29-year-old Jacob Whitaker with upper body trauma. 

Whitaker was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Our detectives are working tirelessly to uncover the circumstances behind this tragic incident," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. 

"We urge anyone with information to come forward, as we are committed to seeking justice for this individual."
