Desantis: 3 Million Homes Lost Power In Florida After Milton

ORLANDO, Florida - Over 3 million homes in Florida lost power after Hurricane Milton and a record-breaking number of tornadoes tore through the Sunshine State.

"Over 3 million households are without power, but 635,996 accounts have already been restored as of 6:00 AM. More than 50,000 linemen are in Florida and working to restore power as efficiently and safely as possible," said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

"As you are surveying damage and cleaning up your property, be cautious of hazards like downed power lines and operate generators a safe distance from your house."

According to the FPL outage map, 1.2 million homes are still without power and 485,000 homes have had power restored as of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

According the Duke Energy outage map, over 800 homes are without power as of 9:30 a.m.
