MIAMI, Florida – Scattered to numerous thunderstorms could bring gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours across South Florida throughout the day on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, according to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center.
Localized flooding will once again be possible across the metro areas of South Florida as multiple rounds of heavy downpours may occur with stronger thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service in Miami forecasts a Moderate Rip Current Risk for Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Broward counties.
Highs will reach the upper 80s along the east coast to the lower 90s along the west coast.
Wednesday through Monday
Scattered thunderstorms will be possible each day this week. Some storms could become strong, with threats of gusty winds and frequent lightning.
The risk for rip currents will remain elevated for the Atlantic Coast beaches throughout most of the week as steady onshore flow persists.
Peak heat index values will remain elevated through late this week, and may reach advisory level criteria at times.
