MIAMI, Florida – Scattered to numerous thunderstorms could bring gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours this afternoon across South Florida on Sunday, September 1, 2024, according to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center.
Localized flooding will once again be possible across the metro areas of South Florida as multiple rounds of heavy downpours may occur with stronger thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service in Miami forecasts a Moderate Rip Current Risk for Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Broward counties.
Highs will reach the upper 80s along the east coast to the lower 90s along the west coast.

Scattered thunderstorms will be possible each day over the next week. Some storms could become strong with threats of gusty winds and frequent lightning.
The risk for rip currents will remain elevated for the Atlantic Coast beaches throughout most of the week as steady onshore flow persists.
