Walmart Recalls Apple Juice For Arsenic In 24 States, Including Florida

TAMPA, Florida- Refresco Beverages US Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of its Great Value 8oz Apple Juice, sold in a six-pack, after discovering that the product contains levels of inorganic arsenic above the safety threshold set by industry guidelines. 


The company detected arsenic levels at 13.2 parts per billion (ppb) in the juice, surpassing the acceptable limit. 


As a precautionary measure, approximately 9,535 cases of the product have been recalled. Consumers are urged to check their purchases for the "Best if Used by DEC2824 CT89-6" code.


The affected apple juice was distributed to retail locations across 24 states: Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, West Virginia, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C.


Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are advised to discontinue use and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.


Refresco Beverages US Inc., headquartered in Tampa, Florida, initiated the recall on August 15, 2024.
