Hurricane Debby Blows $1 Million Of Cocaine On Florida Beach

MONROE COUNTY, Florida – Hurricane Debby blew 25 packages of cocaine (70 lbs.) onto a beach in the Florida Keys, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.

“Good Samaritan discovered the drugs & contacted authorities. U.S. Border Patrol seized the drugs, which have a street value of over $1 million dollars,” Acting Chief Patrol Agent of the U.S. Border Patrol for the Miami Sector Samuel Briggs posted on X. 

This is the fourth time a large amount of cocaine has been discovered in the waters off the Florida Keys this summer.

Last week, a fisherman discovered a package containing 25 bricks of suspected cocaine offshore of north Key Largo.

In June, a boater found sixty-five pounds of cocaine worth over $1 million floating at sea off of the Florida Keys, the U.S. Border Patrol announced.

Earlier in June, twenty-five individually wrapped kilograms of suspected cocaine were found by scuba divers in approximately 100 feet of water in the Atlantic Ocean.
