Flooding, Thunderstorms For South Florida Today

, Florida – Isolated to scattered thunderstorms could bring gusty winds and heavy downpours this afternoon across on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, according to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center.

Excessive rainfall from slow-moving thunderstorms could lead to localized flooding, particularly in urbanized and poorly-draining areas of Collier, Miami-Dade, and Broward counties.

A moderate risk of rip currents will develop along the Atlantic beaches of South Florida today.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible each day into early next week. The strongest storms could contain heavy downpours and gusty winds.
