MIAMI, Florida – Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop over portions of South Florida during the afternoon on Monday, July 29, 2024.
The strongest storms could contain gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours that could cause flooding across urban and poor drainage areas, according to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center.
Showers and thunderstorms may bring relief from the heat to some areas of South Florida where peak heat indices in the triple digits can be expected.
Tuesday through Sunday
Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will be possible each day from Tuesday through Sunday.
The greatest threat of heavy rain and potential flooding will likely be early this week as a system that may form into a tropical depression nears Florida.
