Teen Arrested In Sumter County Double Stabbing

SUMTER COUNTY, Florida – A teen was arrested on Saturday for allegedy stabbing two people in Sumter County.
On the evening of June 1, 2024, at approximately 10:11 PM, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distress call regarding a stabbing incident at 6611 County Road 148.
Deputies arriving at the scene discovered two victims: one adult and one juvenile.
Emergency medical services promptly administered aid to both victims, who were subsequently airlifted to area hospitals for further treatment.
During the initial investigation, deputies identified a 16-year-old juvenile as the suspect in the stabbing.
According to deputies, the teen had fled the scene on foot but was quickly apprehended with the assistance of the Sheriff’s office helicopter.
The juvenile is now in custody at the Sumter County Jail.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
