MIAMI, Florida – Scattered thunderstorms are forecast to develop mainly during the afternoon across South Florida, including Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Broward counties.
The strongest storms may contain gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning, according to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center. Slow moving storms may result in localized flooding in urban and poor drainage locations.
Maximum heat indices around 100 to 105 degrees are expected this afternoon.
Friday through Wednesday
Scattered thunderstorms will be possible each day. The strongest storms could produce gusty winds and heavy downpours. Slow moving storms could also result in localized flooding.
Heat indices over 100 degrees will be possible each day, with values up to 110 possible late in the week.
