Florida Governor DeSantis Signs Bill Prohibiting Balloon Releases

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed House Bill 321 that prohibits anyone 7-years-old or older from intentionally releasing balloons that are lighter than air, such as helium balloons.

Penalties include a $150 fine and a court may require the offender to pick up litter or perform other labor commensurate with the offense committed.

The law takes effect July 1, 2024.
