Excessive Heat, Thunderstorms Possible For Florida

 

MIAMI, Florida – Scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and into the evening on Wesnesday, June 5, 2024, across South Florida, Central Florida, the Florida panhandle, and the western half of the North Florida peninsula, according to the National Weather Service Hazardous Weather Outlook.

The greatest chance for thunderstorms is in South Florida. 

Frequent lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rain are the main threats.

The heat index will reach triple digits in western Central Florida and Southwest Florida.
