LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida - This summer, Walt Disney World is set to revamp its Disney Genie+ service and individual Lightning Lane entry options, introducing new features to enhance guest planning and experience.

Starting July 24, the service names will change for clarity. The Disney Genie+ service will be renamed "Lightning Lane Multi Pass," and the individual Lightning Lane will become "Lightning Lane Single Pass."

The updated Lightning Lane passes will offer several new features:

Advance Planning: Guests can make Lightning Lane plans before their visit, providing added confidence.

Selection Flexibility: Guests will be able to choose their experiences and times prior to purchasing, ensuring they know what they’re getting.

Multi-Day Booking: Lightning Lane passes can be booked for multiple vacation days in a single transaction.

Here’s how the updated passes will function:

Lightning Lane Multi Pass: Guests can make up to three Lightning Lane selections in a theme park ahead of their visit and choose available times for these selections. On the day of the visit, guests can check the My Disney Experience app to make additional selections after using the initial ones.

Lightning Lane Single Pass: This pass will continue to allow guests to secure a time for one of the most popular attractions. Now, guests can make their purchase and plan in advance.

Planning Ahead: Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels and other select hotels can plan Lightning Lane passes up to seven days in advance for their entire stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can plan up to three days in advance. This advance window allows guests to secure must-do rides and experiences after considering other plans such as dining reservations.

Guests have the option to purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, a Lightning Lane Single Pass, or both. The My Disney Experience app will be updated to streamline the purchasing and planning process, allowing guests to buy and plan in fewer steps, including the option to purchase both passes in one transaction.

These changes aim to blend features from the current services and the former FastPass+ service, enabling guests to plan ahead and enjoy their vacations without the hassle of on-the-spot planning.
