DeSantis Blames Biden's Weakness For Russian Ships Off Florida

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis

HOLLYWOOD, Florida - Florida Governor Ron DeSantis traveled to South Florida on Friday to tour damaged areas and provide an update on state and local efforts following extreme flooding events caused by record rainfall from Invest 90L.

During a press conference held at Hollywood Fire Rescue Station 5, DeSantis touted the Resilient Florida Grant Program which provides grants to local communities to strengthen coastal and inland communities against the impacts of flooding.

When asked about the Russian warships off of the Florida coast, DeSantis noted that he is Florida's Governor and not the U.S. Commander in Chief before taking a swipe at U.S. President Joe Biden.

"I think that history has shown, that these bad actors, they respond to strength, and they’re deterred by strength. They're not going to be deterred by weakness. They’re not going to be deterred by confusion. They’re not going to be deterred by a President wandering around aimlessly at the G7,” DeSantis said.

“They’re going to be deterred, because they know that that’s not somebody that you want to mess with. So we’re failing as a country with the deterrent capability. And I think that it starts at the top with the President of the United States.”
