Coast Guard Calls Off Search For Missing South Florida Paddle Boarder

UPDATE: The Coast Guard has called off the search for Luciano.

MIAMI, Florida – The U.S. Coast Guard, in collaboration with state and local agencies, is searching for a missing paddle boarder last seen on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Luciano, 29, was spearfishing on a paddleboard near Cape Florida on Pines Canal in Key Biscayne. He was last seen leaving Cape Florida on his aqua and orange paddleboard, wearing a light gray long-sleeve “Reef Cheefs” rash guard and gray sports shorts.

A Good Samaritan discovered a paddleboard and dry bag belonging to Luciano 8-11 miles offshore between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

• Hair: Dark brown, short cut
• Facial Hair: Short shave
• Clothing: “Reef Cheefs” light gray long-sleeve rash guard (almost white), gray sports shorts
