KEY WEST, Florida – A recreational boater discovered sixty-five pounds of cocaine worth over $1 million floating at sea off of the Florida Keys, the U.S. Border Patrol announced.

“The cocaine has an estimated street value of over $1 million and will be seized by the U.S. Border Patrol,” Acting Chief Patrol Agent of the U.S. Border Patrol for the Sector Samuel Briggs tweeted. “We appreciate the support from Good Samaritans in our community.”

This is the second time a large amount of cocaine has been discovered in the waters off the Florida Keys this month.

Earlier in June, twenty-five individually wrapped kilograms of suspected cocaine were found by scuba divers in approximately 100 feet of water in the Atlantic
