Severe Thunderstorms, Hail, Tornadoes Possible For Florida

, Florida – Strong to locally severe thunderstorms, capable of producing brief tornadoes, damaging wind gusts, and hail, and frequent lightning will be possible across Florida this morning and afternoon, according to the the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center.

Strong to isolated severe lightning storms have already developed throughout Central Florida this morning, and are expected to continue through most of the day well ahead of an approaching cold front.

A Tornado Watch is in effect until 11 a.m. for the following Florida counties: Brevard, Citrus, Flagler, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lake, Levy, , Marion, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Seminole, St. Johns, Sumter, and Volusia.
