Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Central Florida
ORLANDO, Florida - The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for 27 counties in Central Florida that will remain in effect until 4 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
Tornadoes, scattered hail up to ping pong ball size, and wind gusts up to 70 mph, are the main threats in the watch area.
The following Florida counties are under the Severe Thunderstorm Watch:
Alachua, Brevard, Citrus, Desoto, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Levy, Manatee, Marion, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Lucie, Sumter, and Volusia.

The severe thunderstorm watch previously in effect until 5 PM has been canceled.
