National Weather Service Issues Severe Thunderstorm Watch For South Florida
MIAMI, Florida - The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for seven counties in South Florida that will remain in effect until 7 p.m. EDT on Sunday, May 24, 2024.
The primary hazards include damaging straight-lined winds and large hail, possibly up to 2 inches in diameter.
Counties Under Watch:
Broward, Indian River, Martin, Miami-Dade, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, St. Lucie
Residents in these counties are advised to stay alert for weather updates and to take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their property from severe weather. Stay indoors, secure loose objects outside, and avoid driving in severe weather conditions if possible.
