FHP: Florida Man Steals School Bus, Joy Rides From Tampa To Miami

TAMPA, Florida - A Florida man was arrested after allegedly stealing a Hillsborough County school bus and taking a joy ride from Tampa to Miami.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Daniel Saez of Land O’Lakes, Florida, allegedly stole the school bus Saturday night from Tampa, drove to Miami, then drove back towards Tampa when he was stopped by FHP troopers on Sunday near the intersection of Jacaranda Boulevard and Executive Drive in Venice, Florida.

Saez allegedly told troopers that he was "drunk and high" when he stole the bus and was on his way back to Tampa to return it.

The Florida man was arrested and later booked into the Sarasota County Jail on a charge of grand theft under a $2,500 bond.
