MIAMI, Florida – Isolated strong to locally severe thunderstorms, capable of producing damaging wind gusts, hail, and frequent lightning, will be possible across South Florida this afternoon and evening, according to the the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center.
The greatest chance for severe thunderstorms are in Broward County, Palm Beach County, Martin County, northeastern Miami-Dade County, and St. Lucie County.
The afternoon thunderstorms may bring relief in some areas from the excessive heat in the 90’s with a heat index above 100 that is forecast across South Florida.
