Three Florida cities were ranked among the top 100 best places to live by livability.com.
Livability filtered through data on thousands of U.S. Cities on nearly 100 data points and an algorithm that takes into account measures of a city’s economy, housing and cost of living, amenities, transportation, environment, safety, education and health.
The Florida cities that made the top 100 list are:
Gainesville in Alachua County with a LivScore of 698
"Gainesville is home to the University of Florida, and those who live here can enjoy all kinds of perks associated with a college town and the youthful energy that spills over from the campus," was among the reasons named by Livability.
Tampa in Hillsborough County with a LivScore of 697
"The median age in Tampa is 36, which means the city is a magnet for young professionals," Livability noted. "Tampa is also a destination for company headquarters and has a strong defense and security industry."
Fort Lauderdale in Broward County with a LivScore of 692
"Who can resist a cosmopolitan city that boasts 24 miles of beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, a dynamic dining scene and arts and culture aplenty?" Livability asked rhetorically when ranking Fort Lauderdal among the top 100.
