SpaceX Record-Breaking Rocket Launch From Florida Set For April 12

CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida – The launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying Starlink 6-49 satellites is targeted to liftoff at 9:22 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Friday, April 12, 2024, from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

Launch Weather 98% ‘GO’

According to the latest forecast from the U.S. Space Force 45th Weather Squadron, there is a 98% chance of favorable weather for launch.

Attempted Landing On Drone Ship

Following stage separation, the first stage of the Falcon 9 will attempt a landing on the autonomous drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean.

Starlink 6-49 Payload

The Starlink satellites are part of a next-generation satellite network developed by SpaceX to provide the globe with reliable and affordable broadband internet services.

SpaceX designed Starlink to connect end-users with low latency, high bandwidth broadband services by providing continual coverage around the world using a network of thousands of satellites in low Earth orbit.

Record-Breaking SpaceX Falcon 9 Booster Reuse History

This will be a record-breaking 20th flight for a first stage booster, which previously launched GPS III Space Vehicle 04, GPS III Space Vehicle 05, Inspiration4, Ax-1, Nilesat 301, OneWeb Launch 17, ARABSAT BADR-8, and 12 Starlink missions.
