MIAMI, Florida – Thousands of Verizon customers in Florida and across the United States are reporting that the Verizon service provider network went down around 9:30 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time today, Thursday, April 25, 2024, according to downdetector.com
The most reported outage problems appear to be occurring in South Florida from Fort Lauderdale to Miami. Other locations outside of Florida include Denver, Colorado.

Customers are reporting outages with cellular network service, 5G home internet, and 5G mobile internet.

The cellular outage has caused smartphones, including Android and iPhone, to go into the no service state of SOS mode.
What Does SOS Mean On An iPhone?
If you see SOS or “SOS only” in the status bar, your device isn’t connected to a network, but you can still make emergency calls, according to Apple. This feature is available in Australia, Canada, and the United States.
