TAMPA, Florida – After experiencing eight consecutive days of declining gas prices, Florida saw a reversal in trend over the past three days, with prices on the rise again, according to AAA.
The state average, which had dropped from $3.64 per gallon to $3.48 last week, rebounded by 9 cents from Friday to Sunday.
As of Sunday, the state average stood at $3.57 per gallon, representing a slight decrease from the previous week by 3 cents, and a decrease of 10 cents compared to the same time last year.
Additionally, it marked a decrease of 7 cents from the high seen earlier in 2024, and a significant difference of 28 cents from the high recorded in 2023. Comparatively, it is strikingly lower, by $1.32 per gallon, than the peak observed in 2022, which stood at $4.89.
While the price of U.S. crude oil remained relatively flat for the week, gasoline futures saw a slight increase of 5 cents compared to the previous week.
