PALM BEACH, Florida - President Donald J. Trump and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met on Friday at Mar-a-Lago to discuss a wide range of issues affecting Hungary and the United States, including the paramount importance of strong and secure borders to protect the sovereignty of each nation.
"It was an honor having Viktor Orbán and his lovely daughter, Flóra, as my guests last night at Mar-a-Lago," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Viktor is a Great Leader, respected all over the World. Hungary is a Safe Country because of his Strong Immigration Policies, and as long as he is in charge, it always will be!"
"It was a pleasure to visit President @realDonaldTrump today," Orbán tweeted. "We need leaders in the world who are respected and can bring peace. He is one of them! Come back and bring us peace, Mr. President!"
POLITCO reported that while on the campaign trail in Pennsylvania, President Joe Biden was critical of the meeting.
“You know who he's meeting with today down in Mar-a-Lago? Orbán of Hungary, who's stated flatly that he doesn't thinks democracy works, he's looking for dictatorship,” said Biden.
