VENICE, Florida – A live sperm whale beached itself off the coast of Venice, Florida, on Sunday morning, March 10, 2024.
According to Venice Police, the whale is located on a sandbar about 50 yards out from Service Club Park and is estimated to be about 70-feet-long.
Police have closed the entrance to Service Club Park at this time while Mote Marine and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission work to assess a whale.
