“Some of our customers are experiencing wireless service interruptions this morning. Our network teams took immediate action and so far three-quarters of our network has been restored. We are working as quickly as possible to restore service to remaining customers,” AT&T said in a statement.
“Thanks for reaching us, we understand the importance of having our services working properly. At the moment we have confirmed there is an active nationwide outage, we appreciate your patience on this, we are working on solving it as soon as possible,” AT&T tweeted.

AT&T does not have an estimated time when service will be restored, or how long AT&T will be down.
AT&T recommends that customers use AT&T WiFi calling until service can be restored.
Users are reporting outages with cellular network service, 5G home internet, and 5G mobile internet.
The cellular outage has caused smartphones, including Android and iPhone, to go into the no service state of SOS mode.
If you see SOS or “SOS only” in the status bar, your device isn’t connected to a network, but you can still make emergency calls, according to Apple. This feature is available in Australia, Canada, and the United States.
NASA announced that the Sun emitted two strong solar flares, the first one peaking at 6:07 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Wednesday, February 21, 2024, and the second peaking at 1:32 a.m. EST, Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Whether the solar flares caused the cell phone outage across the United States causing AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Cricket, Boost, and other cell phone service provider networks to go down around 3:30 a.m. EST on Thursday, February 22, 2024, remains to be determined.
