Tornado Hits Panama City and Marianna Florida

PANAMA CITY, Florida - A tornado wreaked havoc in the Panama City and Marianna areas of Florida on the morning of Tuesday, January 6, 2024.
This tornado is one of many twisters sweeping through the Florida Panhandle, spawned by an approaching cold front that is expected to pass through the rest of the Sunshine State later today.
Images shared by the Bay County Sheriff's Office depict the aftermath of the tornado, show the destruction left in its path.

Areas severely impacted by the tornado include:
Curve on Thomas Drive Area: An apartment complex, located right across from Pirates Cove Marina, sustained extensive damage. The Treasure Circle area has been closed due to debris and water.
Venture Out, Near Thomas Drive: This area has also suffered damage.
Power Lines on Hwy 2301: Power lines are hanging low on Hwy 2301, and residents are strongly advised not to attempt to touch or drive over downed power lines. The south of Hwy 231 area is affected. Indian Bluff and Sunshine roads have trees down on the road.
Intersections with Damaged Traffic Lights: Several intersections are affected, with damaged traffic lights. Residents are urged to treat these intersections as four-way stops.
