Suspect Arrested In Ocala, Florida Paddock Mall Shooting

OCALA, Florida – The Ocala Police Department announced the arrest of Albert Shell Jr., 39, the suspect alleged to be responsible for the fatal shooting at Paddock Mall in Ocala, Florida.


"The Ocala Police Department, in collaboration with the United States Marshals Service (Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force), has apprehended Albert Shell Jr., the murder suspect involved in the deadly shooting at the Paddock Mall that occurred on Dec. 23, 2023," Ocala police tweeted this morning.


The shooting claimed the life of David Nathaniel Barron, 40, and left a woman injured.


Police had recently increased the $10,000 reward to $20,000.


Shell faes charges of first-degree murder and attempted premeditated first-degree murder. 


Police say that Barron was specifically targeted by Shell during the tragic incident inside the mall.
