SpaceX Rocket Launch Today From Florida To International Space Station

CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida – The launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus spacecraft (NG-20) to the International Space Station is targeted to liftoff at 12:07 p.m. EST on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

Launch Weather 95% ‘GO’

According to the latest forecast from the U.S. Space Force 45th Weather Squadron, there is an 85% chance of favorable weather for launch.

The primary weather concern is cumulus clouds.

Ground Landing

Following stage separation, the first stage of the SpaceX Falcon 9 will land on Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

NG-20 Payload

Filled with more than 8,200 pounds of supplies, the Cygnus cargo spacecraft carries  the first surgical robot on the space station, an orbit re-entry platform that collects thermal protection systems data, a 3D cartilage cell culture that maintains healthy cartilage in a lower gravity, an autonomous semiconductor manufacturing platform, and a metal 3D printer that will test the capability for printing small metal parts.
