Severe Weather, Tornadoes Forecast For Florida


An approaching cold front will bring severe thunderstorms, very strong and damaging wind gusts, small hail, waterspouts, and a few tornadoes are forecast across Florida on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, according to NOAA's National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center.

The Florida region at greatest risk for severe weather on Monday night and Tuesday is over West Florida and North Florida, including the cities of Pensacola, Panama City, Tallahassee, Gainesville, and Jacksonville.


A slight risk for severe weather Tuesday afternoon and evening spans across Central Florida, including the cities of Tampa, Sarasota, Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Melbourne


South Florida is at a marginal risk, including the cities of Key West, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Fort Pierce.
