Florida Woman Killed In Alachua County I-75 Crash
ALACHUA COUNTY, Florida - A Jasper, Florida woman died as a result of injuries she sustained from a crash on Interstate 75 just north of U.S. 441 at 2:05 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in Alachua County, Florida.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 25-year-old Minnesota man was driving a semi truck northbound on I-75 north in the middle lane.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Florida woman was driving a car northbound in the right lane of northbound I-75 ahead of the semi truck.
FHP troopers say that the woman then abruptly turned the car left into the direct path of the semi truck.
The right front of the semi then struck the left side of the car..
The semi-truck driver did not sustain any injuries.
The northbound lanes of I-75 were closed for most of the early morning while emergency vehicles responded to the scene and FHP conducted its fatal crash investigation.
