TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Florida’s minimum wage hourly workers and tipped employees can anticipate a boost in their earnings in 2024, as the state’s minimum wage is set to increase from $12 per hour to $13 per hour for standard employees and from $8.98 per hour to $9.98 per hour for tipped workers.
The increase will start on September 30, 2024.
This increase follows the schedule outlined by a state constitutional amendment approved by Florida voters on November 3, 2020.
The amendment mandates incremental increases in the state’s minimum wage by $1 each year until it reaches $15.00 per hour by September 30, 2026.
The minimum wage had already seen an increase to $12.00 per hour on September 30, 2023.
Now, starting September 30, 2024, and continuing annually until the target is met in 2026,
